Hey there friend! Thanks so much for stopping by for my first ever holiday home tour! If you’re coming from Jamie over at So Much Better with Age, thanks for popping in and it’s nice to “meet” you. I’m excited to partner up with this fabulous group of ladies. I usually decorate for Christmas earlier in November, but this year we have had so much going on! If you follow me on social media, then you know I’m 3 months pregnant with our little girl. It’s been quite the first trimester, so I’ve had a hard time keeping up with the blog and other work things. But, here I am now to show you what I came up with this year. I decided that I wanted to keep it simple this year with traditional pops of red and green, but I wanted to add minimal decorations. I sold a bunch of my decor over the last few weeks and I have to say, it felt really good to purge it all! Before I ramble on here all day, let’s begin this tour of our little ranch. Grab a cup of coffee and a cozy blanket, and make sure to head to the next blogger at the end of the tour.
I love the typical green and red Christmas decor. I wanted to incorporate them both into our home, but without being so bold and bright with it. I have been in the process of simplifying and making things more neutral around here. I find it easier to decorate that way. Then, when certain seasons and holidays come around, you can add minimal decor and still make a big impact.
I love how I spent time actually trying to get the pups into a cute photo and I asked them to sit and lay down and all that good stuff, then the best photo I got of them was when they sat on the couch without being told and took a nap! Lola and Sadie look so comfortable, don’t they? Let’s move to the entryway.
I struggled with how I wanted to do things here, then I realized I was overthinking it all. Added some crocks with trees in them, a pillow, and the reindeer sack and that was it! See, simplicity is all the rave right now at The Belmont Ranch. 😉
In the kitchen, I added some fresh garland with lights and a few wreaths too. I don’t have a lot of space to add things in the kitchen since we use the items on our open shelves. I knew I wanted fresh garland for my decor this year, but when I went to Lowes they were all sold out! The guy working there ended up offering me the ones that they were decorating with out front, and I gladly took them at a discount, of course. I was super happy to have scored the last few ones they had.
I also used the garland in the dining room too, adding it to the table and the chandelier. Staying with the theme of the rest of the house, I only added the garland and some candlesticks in my tablescape for some texture. I love adding pops of Christmas all over the house. I did add a small tree to our bedroom with some lights but no ornaments. It stays pretty basic in there. I feel like even though it took me a little longer to get the decorations up this year, they’ll stay through the middle or end of January so I can enjoy the coziness and wonderful feelings of this time of year.
Thanks again for stopping by my holiday home tour! The next blogger on the tour is Julie & Jodie from The Design Twins Blog, so make sure to stop by and see their gorgeous home, and check out the other stunning tours in the group below!
